My favorite skincare products of the moment!
So it’s getting down to the wire for buying holiday presents. You may have that hard to buy for person that has you at a loss for gift ideas. People always ask me about my favorite beauty products and today I’m disclosing some of my addictions in an effort to help you with your shopping dilemmas. Looking good and feeling good are gifts that keep on giving!
For the face I will always love Roc® Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. It is an affordable retinol, Vitamin A, cream and is truly anti-aging. As we age cell turnover slows down causing our skin to look dull and Vitamin A speeds up the process making our skin radiant. Another collagen building and skin firming ingredient is, ascorbic acid, Vitamin C. Skinceauticals® has been leading the industry in Vitamin C for many years and the Serum 20 AOX+ is one of the highest concentrations of Vitamin C in a retail product. One caveat is there is a slight smell with this product, but the results are worth it. My top three anti-aging products in no particular order would be Vitamin A, Vitamin C and a sunscreen. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 is the perfect sunscreen with a lightweight moisturizer & a hint of color all in one that can be used in place of foundation for soft coverage. It makes your skin flawless and it is an easy to use time saver moisturizer, so there are no excuses not to wear sunscreen.
For the body nothing beats a relaxing bath at home, except maybe a relaxing massage in a spa. Hot springs therapy has become popular all over the world, but you can have some of the same benefits at home. Hydrotherapy (the use of water in the treatment of pain and disease) and Balneotherapy (the practical study and application of the health benefits of water) has been used for many centuries. In 1800’s Sebastian Kneipp, a Bavarian priest that cured himself of tuberculosis, wrote The Water Cure touting the healing properties of water. The Kneipp Cure expresses the many benefits to taking a bath: accelerating cell activity, increasing cell oxygenation, enhancing the immune system,increasing body metabolism, improving blood circulation, eliminating toxins, nourishing vital organs and tissues, promoting relaxation, decreasing inflammation, and relieving pain. Known as one of the founders of the "Naturopathic medicine" movement, Kneipp products have some of the highest concentrations of essential (the pure essence of a plant) oils. It is only fitting to use the products that can be traced back over 100 years in the bath. I must admit I rarely make time for baths, however when I do I’m always blissfully glad I did.
When I need a little energy Rosemary is the aromatherapy (inhaling scent therapy) I love. I get my fix with Kneipp’s Rosemary herbal bath. Rosemary is invigorating and improves circulation.
Side note: Yonka’s Phytocontour eye cream also has rosemary and helps to diminishes bags and dark circles around the eyes.
Another spirit lifting scent is Eucalyptus.
